Bayswater Road History

Bayswater Road was called Baynard’s Watering in the 1700’s after Baynard, one of William the Conquerer’s followers. It had a huge amount springs welling up from it. These supplied the greater part of the London metropolis with water.

This suburb is now a fashionable and richly-built part of London. In St. George’s burial-ground, fronting Hyde Park, the graves of Lawrence Sterne, Sir Thomas Picton, and Mrs Radcliffe are found. Happily, this graveyard is not reproduced in Second Life, although there is a large Graveyard in the park waiting for the residents to explore if they dare!

‘Baynard’s Watering’ has now been shortened to its present name of ‘Bayswater’ and is one of the poshest roads in London. Those who live along it can see views across the famous Grade 1-registered Hyde Park in both real and virtual life. Bayswater, as we know it now, as posh housing developed between the 1820s and 1850s with Chelsea, Pimlico, St John’s Wood and Notting Hill.

Bayswater Living

Autumn is a lovely time, especially at London inSL. All the dreamy fall colours, long shadows and mellow fall sunshine make London an ideal place to live.Second Life Fashion, London

You can choose anywhere in Second Life to live, but there is nowhere like London. One of the original famous Estates, its home to many people who admire friendship, quality environments and peaceful living.

Hyde Park is located in the lovely London England UK region, which is always a popular place to go to. Forget the traffic stats, they lie, – all regulars have switched their traffic status to ‘off’ – it’s a sign of wanting to have a peaceful Second Life and not feel the pressure of having being counted as ‘traffic’. They turned themselves ‘Off The Grid’. People come to London because they want to here and live here because they love it here.

Bayswater Homes

At present, three Bayswater Homes are available. This is unusual and it’s worth grabbing one now while you can. Three long-time residents of Second Life have left the game for good and sadly have also had to give up their Bayswater homes. While we are sad to see them leave us and the game, but London is delighted to offer you these lovely homes in prime locations.
