Early Snowfall in Hyde Park and Chilled-out “Moments” in Kensington by Jas (Blog 186)

November 14, 2013 • Entertainment, Music, News, Romantic

We awoke yesterday in Second Life`s London Sims to find that there had been an early snowfall, and Hyde Park was covered with a dusting of seasonal snow. I went exploring and found the Serpentine lake  had frozen over already. (That was quick!) I had good fun by clicking on a blue ball and having a skate around the beautiful area. Bizarrely, the ducks seemed to be swimming in the ice still, but maybe they have become used to it over the years ! I found a poem by Robert Bridges from 1890,  called London Snow which seemed to describe the feelings you get when it snows in British towns. Here is part of it –

“When all men were asleep the snow came flying,

In  large white flakes falling on the city brown,

Stealthily and perpetually settling and loosely lying,

Hushing the latest traffic of the drowsy town,

Deadening, muffling, stifling, it`s murmurs failing;

Lazily and incessantly floating down and down:

Silently sifting and veiling road, roof and railing;

Hiding indifference, making unevenness even,

Into angles and crevices softly drifting and sailing.”

And here are some pics I took of my trip around Second Life`s Hyde Park http://www.flickr.com/photos/107369297@N08/sets/72157637659781596/

But, not content with that , my avatar felt like warming up with some evening entertainment in Moments Rooftop Ballroom in Kensington. DJ JB Goode was on the decks again, playing  soothing favourites such as  Barry White and Carole King. Moments` Manager Jayde was also host for the evening and she looked very glamorous in her red sparkly evening gown. Some of the guests seemed to have brought gum along and be blowing bubbles, which didn`t seem particularly formal, but added to the fun atmosphere. Tell your friends all about this lovely, romantic place – you won`t regret coming- and will leave with a glow that would warm up any ice- queen or snow – covered avatar. They also have a massive masked ball planned for over the Christmas season . Keep reading my blogs to find out exactly when!
