Well, after a major battle with my laptop,
I finally managed to get to the London Sims Ice Ball last night.
The decoration of the ballroom was beautiful
(which I fear my pictures don`t do justice to),
and some of the women, in particular, looked gorgeous.
Many chose to wear white-
and, for the fashion conscious amongst you,
I can report that antlers seem to be the in thing at formal balls this year!
Earlier in the day I had been playing in the snow (making snow angels),
looking round the park –
and discovering what was on the roof of the ballroom (- more on that later).
“Beauty, like ice,
our footing does betray;
..Who can tread
sure on the smooth, slippery way: Pleased with the surface, we glide swiftly on, And see the dangers that we cannot shun.”
We finished up the party at Sexy Brits club.
As for the unsubstantiated reports of an ice troll in my last blog,
I was reminded that a mermaid lives under the Serpentine lake.
I`ve met her several times- she is lovely- and don`t worry
(as I`m sure you were!), mermaids can breathe under ice.
I had spotted another mythical being, though, earlier in the day,
during my walk through Hyde Park.
It seems that Santa has been left on the roof of our ballroom.
His reindeer were last seen flying off to the east, along with his sleigh.
We in London will guarantee SL Santa a very happy Christmas with us !
PS: Don`t worry kids Santa isn`t a myth really-only in Second Life!
PPS: What are you kids doing reading my blogs anyway ??
