On the 8th April 1994  an electrician arrived at Kurt Cobain`s Lake Washington house to install security lights, and discovered the singer`s body. Forensic experts later confirmed that he had been dead for three days – making the 5th of April this year the 20th Anniversary of the Nirvana frontman`s death. We in the London Sims wanted to commemorate the iconic singer, so we had a Tribute Band to play some of Nirvana`s greatest hits in Hyde Park.

The event was very popular – with  a lot of devoted fans who wanted to remember him. Kurt`s untimely death is riddled with conspiracy theories, but everyone there was agreed that he was a brilliant songwriter and musician who should have never been taken from the world so soon.

Here we are now, entertain us

I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us”

“My girl, my girl, don’t lie to me

Tell me where did you sleep last night…
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through

My girl, my girl, where will you go
I’m going where the cold wind blows.” *

“Come as you are, as you were,
As I want you to be
As a friend, as a friend, as an old enemy.
Take your time, hurry up
The choice is yours, don’t be late.
Take a rest, as a friend, as an old memoria   ….

No I don’t have a gun..”

“a daughter who reminds me too much of what I used to be, full of love and joy,

…  remember, it’s better to burn out than to fade away. Peace, love, empathy.” Kurt`s last note.

All quotes and songs by Kurt Cobain except * “In the Pines”, which is a traditional American song.
