Some times I am accused of making the avatars in Second life look foolish in my pictures so today (apart from the shot above) there
ll be no more of that. There are virtual rumours at the moment that (if true) certainly seem worthy of a serious article. It has been alleged that a take-over bid is being made for Second Life - and that urgent action is required. Who could it be that would have the wealth and power to attempt to lead people in unusual directions. Well, rumour has it, that the new leader of Second Life will be the US Presidential hopeful Donald Trump. I went around SLs London Sims trying to gauge the reactions to this unexpected turn of events..
Some of the Furries, Elves and Nekos took the news with disbelief- one adding “that man gives me the creeps”. Others speculated that minority groups (such as Furries) may be only given certain areas of SL where they would be allowed to live. A interesting debate started over who originally came from which sims – and therefore would be allowed to carry on living there.
Also under consideration, was what the new name for Second Life could possibly be. Some came up with “Trump Life” or “Trump World” , but my own personal favourite (which may resonate more with the older Brits amongst you) was “Trumpton”. And look I found a lovely video that could promote this new world:
s big event in Sexy Brits in our Knightsbridge sim is a Linden winning contest, and its best in silly costumes. I wonder why. (Checks the date on this post- and realises a new month has arrived-YAY! ) I wonder if the pictures below could give you some ideas for costumes.
PS: This APRIL we will be commemorating the fact it is 400 years since the death of one of our best known British Playwrights. Shakespeare Month should prove to be an interesting theme here in the London Sims. The costumes above might suit some of the events, too. Shakespeare may have been foretelling certain aspects of SL when he wrote about a “fool’s paradise”,but I get the feeling he would have enjoyed spending Spring in our sims. For example this quote from “The Merry Wives of Windsor” aptly captures the mood in London at the moment.
“He capers, he dances, he has eyes of youth, he writes verses, he speaks holiday, he smells April and May”.
